It has been quite
a while since Jutta updated our blog and she thought it would be a good idea
for me to give an update this time around.
Well, I have been home for 3 weeks and am enjoying every minute of it. Jutta keeps spoiling me and our days together feel almost like our normal life.
Every
day I am getting a little stronger, in body and mind. We are taking walks
together, have visited some of our friends and I am even able to do some work
in our little garden and around the house.
Yesterday we sat outside at Joes’
Boathouse, a restaurant right at the water and enjoyed lunch. Jutta and I were reflecting
on how “normal” it all felt; at times like this it is very confusing for me to
feel as good as I do but also to realize that shortly I will be returning to
the hospital for a second round of chemo. Is it really necessary or can my body
lick this thing by itself – of course I know better but these thoughts do cross
my mind.

a peter entry- how exciting!
you look great. andrew and I are glad to hear you feel "normal" at times- that is an achievement for sure. And a testament to the life that you two have carved out in the midst of your nightmare.
Good luck with your continued day to day life until a return to the hospital environment is necessary. It seems to be necessary as you say. Kill that cancer!
Dear Peter, how wonderful to hear your voice -- straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. And certainly your wish to be able to quit all this doctor and hospital and chemotherapy stuff is totally understandable. Here's hoping that Round 2 is the knockout round and you can return to what used to be normal..and this time with an intensely increased appreciation for the profound beauty that is in that normal. Meanwhile enjoy Jutta's spoiling, and what we gather is terrific weather for this time of year. Love, David and Joan
Ah Peter, you seem to be in your element out there in the sunshine in front of the water. You even have a good sailor's cap to complete the picture.
I agree, it is great to hear your voice. I was also so glad to get a visit in on my way through and see all your great "edging" in the garden beds. Sitting with a coffee, you and Jutta was very normal and wonderful.
xxoo avy
Peter, you look wonderful and it's reassuring to hear that you're feeling so well! It's understandable that you're questioning the second round of chemo when you're in good shape at the moment. But because you're as strong as you are physically and mentally, hopefully, the second round will go even more smoothly than the first. The photo on the dock shows lovely spring weather. The season of renewal.
Much love to you and dear Jutta,
Monica and Gregg
Dear Peter and Jutta
At long last I have caught up with Jutta's blogs dating all the way pack to when I last wrote. Peter, it is wonderful to read your own thoughts and to hear, so to speak, your own voice. It is beautiful gift to us readers and a strong signal that you are bounding back!!! So, who would argue with the proposition that "aller guten Dinge sind vier"? Nonetheless, your courage and fortitude in facing repeated sequestration and nasty side effects are simply awesome. As for this newest round: I drücke dir beidi düüme und beide grosse zäie derzue.
Jutta, you were very much on my mind half an hour ago as I fixed Swiss Chard à la Jutta, something you threw together for a five-year old Paris and two "adult" visitors from NYC one Easter break long time ago.
Love to you and all in the family,
Tamara
